Holding the reins of a horse is a basic ability for any equestrian. The reins are used to speak with the horse and management its actions. There are a number of other ways to carry the reins, every with its personal benefits and downsides. The commonest technique to maintain the reins known as the “direct” methodology. On this methodology, the reins are held in a single hand, with the thumb on high of the reins and the fingers beneath. The opposite hand is used to help the reins and to make changes as wanted.
One other frequent technique to maintain the reins known as the “oblique” methodology. On this methodology, the reins are held in each arms, with the thumbs on the surface of the reins and the fingers beneath. This methodology provides the rider extra management over the horse, however it may be harder to study.
